Employee Spotlight

BACODA's most important asset is our people. From those that counsel and inform others, to those that keep us involved with our youth and community, it’s our people that make BACODA a success.

We feel recognition is important because it creates a work environment that helps us feel good about what we do and about each other. In addition, recognition encourages teamwork, stimulates innovation, energizes people, helps individuals grow and, most of all, feel valued for their contributions.

We’ve taken the opportunity to create the BACODA Employee Spotlight to provide meaningful recognition for the accomplishments of our employees. The Employee Spotlight recognizes individuals who demonstrate behaviors that exemplify BACODA’s values.

Every month we will share with you the Employee Spotlight from various departments throughout our agency. You will see for yourself the kinds of wonderful things employees are doing behind the scenes at BACODA.

The current spotlight is on...

Kaitlyn Wells

Ever since she was a child Kaitlyn Wells wanted to be a designer. So creative at times she would make and wear her own fashion creations to school. After high school she decided to pursue journalism where her artistic talent could come alive through stories. Since becoming an employee with BACODA in 2004, this creative talent has become opportunity!

Outside the Box
Kaitlyn, a Prevention Specialist and Webmaster at BACODA, is a tremendous asset to our agency. From working daily with “at risk” kids to redesigning BACODA’s entire website this employee shows initiative and determination.

Kaitlyn has a calming demeanor, in what is sometimes a very demanding position. She has a willingness to get involved with numerous projects. She has the ability to adapt to change quickly and to find creative solutions to difficult problems.

“I always wanted to make a small but definite difference in the world. And I can feel the opportunity to do so here at BACODA.” No matter what hat she has on at the moment… she tends to see the bigger picture.

Looking for Community
Kaitlyn has a strong, positive work ethic and truly loves working with people. “I ended up here because I admired the sense of community that BACODA had built, a collaborative community of professionals, each an expert in his or her field. The talented people that work at BACODA are what set it apart from other companies.”

As a Prevention Specialist she loves working with kids everyday. Kaitlyn pulls groups of children throughout the school day to teach “Postive Action” a prevention education program that aims to encourage concepts such as improving self-concept, making healthy decisions, accepting responsibility and practicing honesty.

“You know you are making an impact when you see the smile on their faces. Hopefully these kids will remember me down the road when making important life decisions.”

Worth, not Widgets
As Webmaster, Kaitlyn dove in and made BACODA a part of the technological world. Five years ago you couldn’t find BACODA on the internet. Now we have not only an amazing website fit with information and resources, but you can find us on Facebook and YouTube as well. Not to forget our company blog that she has created and monitors. The blog has given BACODA an indefinable personal worth to our community.

“I enjoy the level of creativity my job gives me. I loved having the opportunity to experiment when developing BACODA’s brand.”

During her free time, Kaitlyn spends about 20 hours a week socializing with cats at the Friends of League City Animal Shelter. She has also donated her talent to the shelter by redesigning their website, flyers and promotional materials.

Kaitlyn doesn’t shy away from creativity, but invites it. Whether a graphic designer, prevention specialist or journalist, one thing is for sure… Kaitlyn has made a definite difference at BACODA! That’s the big picture!
